You brought tears to my eyes as well. I am/was a Canadian but two years ago I became an American citizen, not because I had to but because I wanted to be able to vote against Trump and I was overjoyed to vote for a woman but was sad she lost. I live in Trumpland and was not brave enough to go to the Capital today. But I did wear a Canadian sweatshirt and walked my neighborhood in protest of tariffs to both Canada and Mexico. So many people couldn't even say hello or look me in the eye. I looked at the news in a lot of the major cities and barely saw anything about the protest and it made me sad. It seems like people here don't care. So my last protest (after having my email returned from AZ GOP) was to attach to my tree out front, a copy of the Oath I took "to protect against enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC". Now to look for a Gulf of Mexico T-shirt...

People can yell, scream and protest. But it all falls on deaf ears. trump, musk and the cowardly republicans turn a deaf ear and blind eye to all this just to keep their seats and power and not piss off trump. Heck, can you truly rely on the courts? I feel we are stuck having to watch the carnage until the next election. More and more people who should be helping the American people have fallen to their knees for trump. And what will our country and democracy look like then? I’m terrified we will not win any more seats in Congress and Senate. Until the maga voters are severely hurt by trump, it will be more of the same. I can’t watch the news and have a hard time reading the news. I do appreciate all that people are doing but this is so hard to watch.

I don't think that Trump will ever leave the White house because in the project 2025 it indicates that he will be in the office until he dies. He wants to be a dictator and he is doing a good job achieving that ambition.

This made me cry, and I thank you for posting it

I have lost faith in the Senate, Supreme Court and Congress. What are they doing to protect us citizens from the Presidency and his lies? It seems that anything Trump does is fine and dandy

I joined the Shutdown315 Movement (https://substack.com/@nolkaphanem/) and it’s been incredibly helpful to see how many people are coming together to fight this. Also, 50501, GeneralStrike & Indivisible - we’re all working together & it’s beautiful!

We need every democrat in Congress and every Republican who stands against Trump, both those in office now and those who have served in our Congress, and past presidents who stand against dt to be out there doing rallies and talking and helping organize and filing lawsuits and demanding the justice department serve warrants for the arrest of musk and dt snd anyone else that does not do what the Federal judges give them orders to do. em and dt are not afraid of the courts. They know they can refuse to obey by the court order and nothing will be done. HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!!!!

I agree! Wasn’t it Churchill who said “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself”?

Then during the

Cuban missile crisis and other rumblings during John F Kennedy‘s presidency he took up the same quote .

Now it’s our turn to refuse to be frightened into submission and despair with these horrible oligarchs!

We all have to keep the faith in that light of “we the people”.

And we must remember that there are more of us than of them.

The only way that they can triumph is if we all give up and give in to tyranny!

Hi Alexis, you may be right, someone corrected me because I thought it was JFK who originated that quote. They said it was Churchill. I guess we’d have to look it up to know for sure. Lol

Given today’s political problems I guess this is small stuff!

Thanks for commenting. Take good care of yourself during these dark times.

I feel the same was. Thank you as today has really been hard or some reason. Some days are better than others. I worry about the social security and medicare that I need at 73 y/o. I work about my annuities and bank accounts. Andall of this is in addition to caring for a spouse that is 79 y/o and with multiple health issues and long covid. So again thank you for the positive comments.

You have bank account balances and annuities? Lucky you. We have zero buffer against this onslaught.

I think it’s disingenuous to tell us that we will all be OK when camps are being built right now to send us to.

I want to take a minute to thank you Johnny, and others who have the same “Don’t Give up the Ship” mindset. It gives all of us a glimmer of hope. TOGETHER WE WILL!

We need to dismantle heritage foundation. They've been working tirelessly to destroy the United States for decades. They finally found the person who would help them destroy it, that being the malignant narcissistic sociopath imposter in chief. They are the cancer that we need to remove and go down the line. Removing the imposter then the vice so-called president and the leprechaun Johnson and all the spineless evil republican representatives. They must be eradicated. So that this country can TRULY prosper and survive. If it wasn't for their gerrymandering and tossing 3.5 million votes predominantly from minorities in key states. VP Kamala Harris would be our president today. We must demand 🫴 that our Democrat officials fight for our voting rights and reinstate the John Lewis bill. Let's continue our opposition to the GOP regime. 🗽💙🇺🇸

Thanks for the sorely needed positivity. Maybe we will survive, but at what cost? How much damage has to happen first? The damage that already been done is sickening and it has only been a month! We are losing our standing as a leader in this world. Our integrity and respect is being shot all to Hell. We have a FELONIOUS, SEXAUL PREDATORY CRETAN SITTING IN THE OVAL OFFICE! HOW? WE HAVE A CORRUPT SUPREME COURT! We are being governed by some of the biggest hypocrites that ever lived!

We may survive, but we will be forever altered!
