Good News for Democrats! Mitch McConnell is OUT.
Mitch McConnell is stepping down and will not run for re-election, marking a significant shift in U.S. politics.
It’s official: Mitch McConnell is finally stepping down. The man who has held the U.S. Senate in an awful grip for decades will not be running for re-election. This is more than a political shift; it’s an immense victory for progress and a much-needed change for the future of Kentucky and the nation. No longer will the Senate be under the stranglehold of Glitch McConnell.
It’s time for new leadership—Democratic leadership.
This momentous occasion represents a triumph for countless causes, from those fighting for reproductive rights, so often denied by McConnell, to the working families who have suffered under his extreme, partisan agenda. But beyond this victory, it presents a colossal opportunity—an opportunity to dismantle the decades-old grip the Republican Party has held on two U.S. Senate seats in Kentucky.
While many have long considered Kentucky a deep-red state, a closer look reveals a significant undercurrent of blue. Andy Beshear, the Democratic Governor of Kentucky, has proven this with his victory in 2019, where he narrowly defeated incumbent Republican Governor Matt Bevin by just over 5,000 votes. His victory solidified the Beshear family as a political powerhouse in the state, following in the footsteps of his father, Steve Beshear, who served as Governor from 2007 to 2015.
Beshear’s leadership has shown that Kentucky is far from a one-party state. But will he be the one to challenge McConnell’s vacant seat in 2026?
While Beshear’s team has stated that he is “not running for Senate in 2026,” and emphasized his dedication to serving Kentucky as governor, don’t count him out just yet. We’ve seen it before: A candidate declares they aren’t running for another office, then changes course.
Governor Beshear’s term runs until December 7, 2027. As time passes, and the political landscape shifts, the prospect of him transitioning from Governor to U.S. Senator could become more tantalizing—not only for him, but for the millions of Kentuckians who crave a change.
Kentucky is officially back on the table.

Finally no more Moscow Mitch who should’ve been gone two decades ago. I blame this spineless turtle for allowing the convicted felon, rapist to run again. I blame Moscow Mitch for the corrupt extreme court who gave a criminal full immunity to commit more crimes, blame him for corrupt Cannon who allowed a criminal who committed espionage and stole our nations top secret documents to walk free. The worst senator for Kentucky who did nothing to improve their lives. I hope the rest of his days is dark and miserable. Good riddance to bad rubbish Moscow Mitch.
